Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT) is an innovative and advanced technique in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, gaining increasing attention thanks to the robust scientific evidence supporting its benefits. This methodology involves partially restricting blood flow to the limbs during exercise, generating significant improvements in strength and muscle hypertrophy, even with relatively low workloads. The workshop will provide participants with a thorough understanding of the physiological mechanisms underlying BFRT, while exploring its practical application in the rehabilitation of lower limb musculoskeletal disorders. Specific cases will be addressed, such as the initial stages of post-operative rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, knee osteoarthritis, and tendinopathies.
