While one might think that anatomy is now a well-studied part of medicine, in reality it still lacks much in-depth study. In recent years, the number of studies and research on the nervous system and its interfaces with the myofascial system has increased.
In this course, taught by Dr. Marcello Bettuolo, one of Italy's leading experts in neuroanatomy and myofascial techniques, we will delve deeper into the innervation of the shoulder, the distribution of receptors within the various tissues, and common mechanical interfaces between nerves, thanks to the most recent literature reviews.
The study of these aspects becomes the starting point for learning Neuromyofascial techniques designed to stretch tissues in relation to the critical nerve passage areas to address mechanical shoulder pain.
These techniques are an important aid in improving patient adherence to therapeutic exercise and should be introduced into the rehabilitation process in line with the main evidence available in the literature. The simplicity of the techniques and their usability open up a completely different vision to traditional myofascial treatment.
