Muscle strength measurement is a fundamental pillar of physiotherapy practice, essential for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment, monitoring functional recovery, and correctly designing a rehabilitation plan.

Taught by Professor Marcello Bettuolo, a physiotherapist expert in the treatment of musculo-fascial dysfunctions and peripheral neuropathies, this course provides a clear, up-to-date, and highly repeatable methodological framework for assessing muscle strength in different body regions. Through a critical analysis of traditional scales (grading 0–5) and an introduction to the main measurement tools, participants will learn how to make muscle assessment reliable, scientific, and, above all, clinically relevant as a measure of progress.

The course aims to provide practical, scientifically based tools to transform muscle assessment from a crude, unreliable estimate to a fundamental, objective clinical finding.
